To be a truly Catholic school reflecting the Gospel values, St Clare’s must be a truly inclusive school.

The Learning Support Faculty at St Clare’s exists to ensure that every student enrolled at the school has equitable access to the academic, social, and spiritual opportunities and services we provide, in a supportive and welcoming environment, to reach their unique potential.

CATHOLIC PERSPECTIVE

“OMNI PRO CHRISTO – ALL FOR CHRIST”

Our school motto reminds us that our goal and purpose is to serve Christ.

The Learning Support Faculty at St Clare’s serves Christ through our service to others – students, teachers, parents and caregivers, support staff and all other members of our school community. The Gospel values of service and respect for the dignity and uniqueness of each individual are imbedded in all our practices and interactions as we strive to meet the needs of students with diverse learning needs.

St Clare’s Inclusive Learning Hub welcomes all students. It is a place for quiet study, assessment task support, literacy and numeracy intervention, lunchtime games and use of available technology. This technology includes laptops and tablets, which allow students online access under guidance from learning support teachers. SCIL Hub is for everyone but focuses primarily on students with special needs – diagnosed disabilities or otherwise – to enable them to access the school curriculum at their ability level. Our dedicated staff of teachers and assistants strive to provide opportunities and support to students so they are happy and feel accepted at school for the people they are and what they can become. The learning support staff also assist teachers and parents of students with special learning needs. We use a collaborative method where all groups – learning support, teachers, students, parents – work together to achieve the best results for the students at St Clare’s.
